Fusion Extreme comes to town
With entries from every corner of the UK already in excess of 500 for a weekend of spectacular cycle racing, the town centre looks set for an exciting mid-summer sporting festival on 22nd/23rd June.
But its not just racing on 2 wheels this year as the riders will be sharing the closed roads with runners and wheelbarrows.
New for 2019, street athletics for youngsters of all ages and a charity fancy-dress wheelbarrow race add to the entertainment and fun, and certain to be a huge favourite with young BMX’ers over the 2 days is Fusion Extreme, a world-class BMX-style show where riders perform extraordinary acts of skill and balance.
Event organizer Paul Butcher said “We have been extremely lucky to attract an event with a world-class reputation and this has been made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of countless local businesses.” Just 3 weeks after performing on BBC’s Blue Peter show, Matti Hemmings brings his spectacular team to Minehead and will kick off the entertainment at midday on Saturday. With further performances throughout the weekend, everyone will have a chance to witness the spectacle in the Event Village (Summerland Avenue car park), where Matti will also run several free workshops for those enthusiasts keen to develop their own skills.
